The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Senior Academy FAQ

  1. Who can attend MDP Tryouts?
    • All players that fall within the offered age groups for that season can attend the first tryout. Eligible birth years for the 2019/20 season are 2001-2004. However, 2005 birth year sophomores may be permitted to participate as well.
  2. What forms do I need to fill out to participate in a tryout?
    • Online Registration Form (Completed through GotSoccer)
    • Medical Release Form (Completed through GotSoccer)
    • Concussion Form (Completed through GotSoccer)
  3. How much is registration and what does it cover?
    • The non-refundable MDP Tryout Registration Fee is $50. This fee will be due at the time online registration through GotSoccer is completed. Once the Tryout Events are complete, players will be selected to participate on the final Senior Academy Team for each group. Not all players that tryout are guaranteed a spot on a team.
    • Players offered a position Senior Academy Team will be responsible for an additional $150 Training Fee should they accept their invitation. This fee will be non-refundable.
    • These registration fees cover rental of facilities, coach's fees and administrative costs for training throughout the season.
    • Additional fees will be required by those players attending events or camps as they are scheduled to cover those costs.
  4. What are the benefits of participating in the Senior Academy?
    • Player development
    • The opportunity to train and play with the best players in one's age group
    • The ability to attend some of the top soccer tournaments in the West and gain increased exposure to college coaches and the recruitment process
    • Quality instruction from nationally licensed coaches
    • The opportunity to represent one's state, region and country in competition

  5. How many players will be named to each team?

  7. How long is the MDP Senior Academy season?
    • The Senior Academy season begins in August and ends in July. Training dates will begin after the high school season in November. Travel to events will begin as early as December and go through as late as March. Regional and National ODP events go through July.
  8. Once a player is selected to Senior Academy Team, when will the team train?
    • MDP's goal is for State Team players to train twice in November, and then at least once a month between December through March. This may be impacted by weather, availability and other scheduled MDP events.
    • MDP will not run Senior Academy training sessions during the high school season (mid-August - October) and spring club season (April - June).
  9. What other costs will there be for events and camps?
    • Event costs will be dependent on event registration fee, travel costs, etc. Final event fees will cover everything for the player with the exception of their food and airline tickets (if necessary).
  10. How do I determine what event I should attend when there is a soccer conflict?
